Top 5 things to do this summer

Here are 5 events and activities that cannot be missed in the summer of 2017 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

Martin Perizzolo live / You thought he was funny in Les fromages d’ici commercials? You loved his simpleton character in Les Beaux Malaises? You can now discover Martin Perizzolo as a comedian. He is performing his first stand-up show at Valspec every Friday and Saturday, from July 21 to August 12. Presented in a cabaret format, with continuous bar service.

Pris au piège / Escape game – Escape games are very popular right now and the one located in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is no exception. Over the past few months, many teams have tried to break free from the walls of the old police station’s prison. We have the only escape game in Canada that takes place in an actual police station from the 1930s. While many of our competitors have you play in an artificial environment, we bring you total immersion in an authentic décor. You can try to escape actual prison cells! The objective: escape prison cells by solving puzzles before time runs out. A new darker scenario titled L’Ange perdu will be available mid-July. Stay tuned!

Diner entre ciel et terre / Rise up to 150 feet in the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield sky and take a look at the breathtaking view of the St. François Lake. Two choices are available to you: Diner in the air, including a gourmet VIP 5-course meal, with wine and alcohol, or a shorter Cocktail in the air to slowly ease in the euphoria. Do not let your fear of heights prevent you from enjoying this experience; the platform is extremely stable and 100 % safe.

The cruises / All aboard! Brand new excursions are now available for the whole family. While both cruises offered last summer are still running (Dressed up and Bayou), we added a family-themed outing, among others. The Young Sailors cruise is entirely designed for future captains and includes entries to the Delpha-Sauvé Park aquatic complex and the Musée de la Société des Deux-Rives (MUSO). Another thematic cruise is offered, including an Italian dinner and a tour of the basilica (Terre & Mer). Also available is a maritime excursion complete with a visit of the MUSO. Throughout the Régates de Valleyfield weekend, take a wine, cheese and fireworks boat ride.

Electric boat rentals – no boat operator card necessary / On August 5 and 6, the City will offer, as part of a pilot project, rentals of beautiful vintage- or Venetian- looking electric boats, in the St. François Bay. Since these vessels are equipped with harmless and low-power motors, it is not mandatory to have a pleasure craft operator card. Upon rental, you can enjoy a one-hour ride with a small family (maximum of 4 people) or with your significant other. The boats are complete with a table, a screen roof and cup holders – making it the perfect picnic location. Renting a second craft gives you the opportunity to include 6 to 8 people in your adventure and includes the captain’s service. More details will be posted here soon. You can also call 450 370-4855 extension 228 for more information.
