Discover the history of this imposing industry and the workers who shaped our region.

MOCO is an exhibition woven from numerous intertwined stories. Through around fifty testimonies, hundreds of photographs, and significant artifacts, it reveals the history of industrialization in Canada from the early 20th century. The guided tour, available every Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM and upon request, covers fascinating topics such as union activism, child labor, the condition of women, the role of the church, electrification, the absence of critical thinking, and the social world of the employees of what was, until the end of World War II, the largest industrial city in Canada!

Guided Tours Aligned with School Curriculums
The exhibition and public guided tour align with school programs from elementary to college levels. Additionally, our passionate guides can, upon request and for an additional fee, adapt the tour to explore more specialized topics in various disciplines, such as:

  • Sociology: Social experimentation, suppression of critical thinking, marginalization of French-Canadians, etc.
  • Québécois Literature: Explore the social world of the working class at the turn of the 20th century through various idioms and literary references (works by Michèle Lalonde, Pierre Vallières, Marcel Dubé, etc.).
