One of the most prestigious churches in Canada !
The Sainte-Cécile Basilica-Cathedral of Valleyfield is considered one of the most prestigious places of worship in Canada, and is one of 20 basilicas in the country recognized by the Vatican.
The present church is an architectural jewel that was built in 1935 following a fire that ravaged the first structure in 1933. It was restored after a second fire damaged it in 2002.
